June 10 2021 The Garden City Wind defeated the Trinidad Triggers 8-5 after building an early lead and holding off a late Trinidad push. Garden City scored once in the first inning before adding three runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the sixth. Trinidad answered with two runs in the seventh and three in the eighth but was held scoreless in the ninth.
Terry Daniels led Garden City with three hits including a home run and two RBI. Corey Lewis also collected three hits and drove in a run while Manuel Blanco contributed two RBI. Garden City finished with 14 hits and benefited from a balanced attack that produced seven RBI.
Trinidad recorded 13 hits in the game. Aaron Stubblefield hit a home run and drove in two runs while Matt Harrison also homered and added an RBI. JJ Brestensky went 3-for-3 at the plate and Keishaun Clark finished with two hits and one RBI.
Reid Frase earned the win for Garden City after allowing 11 hits and four runs in seven innings with four strikeouts and two walks. Noah Parsons worked a scoreless inning apart from one run while Devin Malone secured the save with a hitless ninth inning and three strikeouts. Brestensky took the loss for Trinidad after allowing five runs on 11 hits in five innings.
