June 16 2021 The Garden City Wind defeated the Trinidad Triggers 14-8 after scoring five runs in the third inning and nine more in the seventh. Garden City finished with 13 hits and 11 walks, while Trinidad collected 14 hits. The Wind committed no errors and the Triggers made one error.
Garden City’s seventh-inning surge turned a 8-5 game into a 14-8 lead. Austin Labarber went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while McCain Mason drove in two runs and Manuel Blanco and Alex Nielsen each had two hits. Carlos Cartaya Jr. reached safely five times by going 3-for-3 with two walks and scored once.
Trinidad received a strong offensive showing from Gabriel Disla, who went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and a home run. Matt Harrison added two hits, two RBIs and a home run, while Vaughn Parker went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Ozzie Millet also had two hits and an RBI.
Razedrick Winters earned the win for Garden City after allowing one hit and no runs with one walk and five strikeouts over two innings. Noah Parsons added two innings with one earned run and three strikeouts. Trinidad starter Yale Hughes took the loss after surrendering nine runs on nine hits with four walks and four strikeouts in 3.2 innings. Matt Harrison provided 1.1 scoreless innings of relief for the Triggers with three strikeouts.
