June 28 2021 The Tucson Saguaros defeated the Garden City Wind 7-2 behind a seven-run outburst through the first two innings. Tucson scored four times in the first and added three runs in the second to take control early. Garden City answered with one run in the eighth and one in the ninth but could not close the gap.
Christian Naccari led Tucson with two hits and three RBIs, while David Walker went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs. Neil Taylor, Kokko Figueiredo, Gabe Wurtz and Leo Gallegos each collected two hits. Tucson finished with 13 hits, including doubles by Taylor, Walker, Wurtz and Naccari. Garden City totaled 11 hits, paced by Manuel Blancos three-hit performance and two hits each from Cartaya Jr. and Devon Zielke.
Augie Martinez earned the win with seven scoreless innings, allowing eight hits and three walks while striking out seven. Pat Clare and Ian Schweppe each worked one inning in relief. Ted Broxterman took the loss after allowing seven runs, six earned, on 12 hits in seven innings, with one walk and six strikeouts. Tucson committed no errors while Garden City was charged with two.
