July 15 2021 The Alpine Cowboys scored in six innings and rolled past the Garden City Wind 25-2. Alpine collected 20 hits and did not commit an error, while Garden City managed four hits and was charged with 10 errors.
Alpine broke the game open with nine runs in the first inning and added a run in each of the second and third. The Cowboys scored seven more in the fourth, then added four in the sixth and three in the seventh. Garden City scored both of its runs in the first inning.
Dylan Nolan went 4-for-7 with five RBI and four runs for Alpine.
Bryce Donovan drove in five runs while hitting two home runs, and
Chris ONeal went 4-for-6 with three RBI and five runs.
Christian Armstrong added three hits, while
Sam Dreistadt hit a home run and finished with three RBI. Alpine hit five home runs in total, including two by Donovan and two by ONeal.
Jared Strait earned the win after allowing three hits and two earned runs in five innings, with three walks and two strikeouts.
Jonathan Triesler and
Austin Requena each pitched a scoreless inning, and
Michael Castillo worked two scoreless innings with three strikeouts.
Ted Broxterman took the loss for Garden City after allowing 10 runs in 1.1 innings.
