Snow Sox Rally Past Wind 20-15

July 30 2021 The Colorado Springs Snow Sox defeated the Garden City Wind 20-15 at Spurgeon Field. Colorado Springs totaled 20 hits and scored in each of the first six innings, while Garden City finished with 15 hits and one error.

The Snow Sox opened with five runs in the first inning and added three in the second before Garden City answered with five runs in the second. Colorado Springs scored once in the third and fourth innings, then broke the game open with an eight-run fifth to take an 18-10 lead. Garden City scored once in the fifth, twice in the sixth and three times in the seventh, but Colorado Springs added two runs in the sixth and held on for the win.

Dakota Popham went 3-for-4 with four runs and four RBI, including a home run, while Peter Bocchino went 3-for-6 with three runs and five RBI and hit two home runs. Alex Jackson added three hits, three runs and two RBI, and Travis Tanaka collected two hits and four RBI. For Garden City, Cartaya Jr. had three hits and two runs, Manuel Blanco went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, and McCain Mason drove in four runs. Kyle Adkins also homered for the Wind and finished with three hits and three runs.

Mike Wilson earned the victory for Colorado Springs after allowing three hits and one run in 1.2 innings, with one walk and one strikeout. Joseph Goetze provided two scoreless innings with two strikeouts to finish the game. Garden City starter Kyle Adkins allowed 13 hits and 11 runs in four innings, and Ismael De Los Santos was charged with the loss after recording one out while allowing five runs and four walks.
