July 9 2024 The Garden City Wind defeated the Pecos Bills 11-0 behind a seven-inning shutout from Jake Norris. Garden City finished with 13 hits and scored in five of its six offensive innings, while Pecos was held to one hit and committed one error.
Jacob Talamante led the Wind attack by going 3-for-3 with two doubles, a home run, two runs and four RBIs. Adam Purdy added a hit, a run and an RBI, while A. Vasquez collected three hits and two RBIs. J. Wright went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, and Robert Morosetti scored once and drove in a run.
Norris allowed one hit and no runs over seven innings, walking seven and striking out six to earn the win. Gilberto Rosario took the loss for Pecos after allowing eight hits and seven runs, six earned, in four innings. Roberto Jimenez surrendered five hits and four runs in two innings. Garden City scored once in the first inning, twice in each of the second through fourth innings and four times in the sixth to complete the shutout.
