July 11 2025 The Garden City Wind defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 23-5 after scoring in eight of nine innings and pulling away with a six-run fifth inning. Garden City collected 15 hits, while Santa Fe finished with six. The Wind also hit three home runs in the win, including blasts by Rob Morosetti, Drew Woodley and Cole Lee.
Garden City scored twice in the second inning and added one run in the third before breaking the game open with three runs in the fourth and six in the fifth. The Wind added two runs in each of the sixth and ninth innings and scored five times in the eighth. Santa Fe took an early 1-0 lead in the first and briefly moved ahead 4-3 with a three-run third inning, but Garden City answered with three runs in the fourth and never trailed again.
Dominic Enbody led the Wind with four hits and four RBI. Woodley went 3-for-6 with five RBI and a home run, while Andrew Brautman had two hits, three runs and two RBI. Morosetti added two hits, scored five runs and drove in two. Jacob Talamante and Kaleb Scull each had a hit, three walks and an RBI.
Lee earned the win after allowing four runs on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts over five innings. Davin Meier, Tyler Cornett and Gavin Peterson combined for four innings of relief, allowing two hits and one run while striking out four. Santa Fe starter Florian went the distance but surrendered 23 runs, 20 earned, on 15 hits with 21 walks and six strikeouts.
Grabanski supplied Santa Fe’s biggest offensive contribution, going 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBI. Jesus Chavez added one hit and one RBI in the loss.
