June 29 2017 The Garden City Wind defeated the Trinidad Triggers 12-5 after turning a close game into a decisive victory with five-run innings in the fourth and seventh. Garden City collected 15 hits and overcame a 1-0 deficit, taking a 5-1 lead after four innings, extending the advantage to 7-1 in the sixth and finishing the scoring with a five-run seventh.
Cameron Ketchen led the Wind offense with three hits and four RBI, including a home run.
Joey Cecere added three hits, two RBI, two walks and two runs, while
Gavin Lavallee went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI.
Ryan Whitt also homered and drove in two runs.
Jean Carlos Peralta scored twice and collected two hits.
Trinidad scored once in the first inning before adding three runs in the seventh and one in the eighth.
Eric Ferguson homered and finished with two hits, two runs and three RBI, while P. Llewellyn went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. The Triggers finished with six hits and committed no errors, while Garden City had three errors.
Trent Carrier earned the win for Garden City after allowing four hits and four runs over seven innings, with only one run earned. He struck out seven and walked two.
Ryan Harper worked the final two innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out four.
Richard Edwards took the loss for Trinidad after allowing 10 hits and five runs in four innings.
