July 9 2017 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Garden City Wind 12-3 at Central Park behind a 17-hit attack. Trinidad scored twice in the first inning, added four runs in the second and broke the game open with four more in the fourth. The Triggers also scored once in the sixth and once in the seventh, while Garden City scored one run in each of the second sixth and ninth innings.
Pat Llewellyn led Trinidad with four hits and two runs in six at-bats.
Eric Ferguson went 3-for-5 with three runs and a walk, while J. Randle went 3-for-5 with two runs three RBI and a home run.
Tim Henry and
Lucas Owens each added two hits and three RBI. Randle’s home run was his 10th of the season.
Nate Harmon earned the win for Trinidad after allowing one hit and two runs over six innings. He walked eight and struck out 10. C. Strayer and
Matt Picucci each worked a scoreless inning, and
Adam Falcon allowed one run in the ninth. Garden City starter
Trent Carrier took the loss after surrendering eight runs five earned on eight hits in three innings.
Garden City finished with three hits and committed three errors, while Trinidad had one error.
Trent Carrier had one of the Wind’s three hits and drove in a run, and
Morgan Blatnik also collected a hit and an RBI.
