Trinidad Triggers Defeat Garden City Wind 9-4

June 28 2018 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Garden City Wind 9-4, using a six-run stretch from the second through fourth innings to establish control. Trinidad collected 11 hits and played error-free baseball, while Garden City managed three hits and committed two errors.

Nick Stoll led Trinidad with three hits, including a home run, two runs scored and one RBI. Matt Eureste also went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs and one RBI. Joba Ferrell drove in two runs, and Justin Busekrus added a two-run homer. Trinidad scored twice in the second and third innings and added another run in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead.

Garden City answered with three runs in the sixth inning, with Cole Fenner’s home run accounting for three RBIs. Eddy Milian also homered and drove in a run, but the Wind could not sustain the rally. Trinidad added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings before scoring twice in the ninth.

Joseph Broderick earned the win for Trinidad after allowing two hits and four earned runs in seven innings. He walked three and struck out five. Matt Stuart pitched a scoreless eighth, and Kane Klais closed the game with a scoreless ninth and two strikeouts. Chip White took the loss for Garden City after giving up eight hits and six runs, five earned, in six innings.
