June 23 2019 The Roswell Invaders scored 12 unanswered runs after the fifth inning to defeat the Garden City Wind 12-1. Roswell collected 15 hits and committed no errors, while Garden City finished with five hits and one error.
Roswell broke through with three runs in the fifth inning and added three more in the sixth before erupting for six runs in the seventh. Daryl Donerson led the attack with three hits, three runs and two RBI. A. Stubblefield and Nolan Hoff each had three hits and scored twice, while Christian Triplett and Matt Paciello added two hits apiece. Paciello drove in two runs, and Jason Ibrahim and Jalin Lawson each contributed one RBI.
Derrick Sylve earned the win for Roswell after allowing four hits and one run in seven innings. He walked eight and struck out 10. John Saviano and Albert Neff each pitched a scoreless inning to complete the five-hit effort. Jackson Owens took the loss for Garden City despite striking out seven in five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits.
Garden City’s lone run came in the seventh inning on Shane Brown’s solo home run. Brown also drew two walks and finished with the Wind’s only RBI.
