David Peterson has been named 2017 Garden City Wind Field Manager. David spent the 2016 season on the Salina Stockade"s coaching staff. David spent the 2015 season on the Garden City Wind"s coaching staff.

"Garden City is the best city in the Pecos League. The city has done a great job with the ballpark and the people are great. I am ready for the 2017 season." says Peterson

the Garden City Wind will begin Spring Training on May 19th in Garden City. The 2017 regular season begins at home on May 26th.

Garden City Wind 5 Trinidad Triggers 3 Garden City, Kansas-The Garden City Wind evened the three games series at a game a piece with the Trinidad Triggers on Thursday Night. connor Kelly pitched 7 innings for the Wind allowing 3 runs while striking out 6. Charles Bahn pitched a scoreless 8th and Chris Gammon closed the 9th to preserve the win. Christian Schneider pitched 5-2/3 innings for the Triggers allowing 5 runs. Scott Stonestreet came on in the 6th inning to escape the inning without allowing a run. Dominic Monda pitched 1-2/3 innings of scoreless ball. Carl Brice came on to get the last out in the 8th inning for the Triggers.

John Nicholson continued to carry the hot bat for the Triggers he hit a two run homer in the 2nd. Willie Ethington hit a huge 3 run homer in the 6th. Manny Colon followed him with a solo homer of his own to give the Wind a 5-2 lead. The Triggers would score one run in the 7th but that would be the end of the scoring.

The two teams will connect for the third and deciding game of the three game series tonight in Garden City. The winner will travel to face the winner of Roswell and Tucson for the Pecos League Championship.

Joe Robinson lead the Triggers pitching staff by pitching 6 innings for his second playoff win of the week for the Triggers. Joe allowed 7 hits with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk. Daniel Karasinski, Jake Swartout and Toby Eigner pitched 1 inning of scoreless ball for the Triggers.

Erik Poldroo went 4-5 with a homer and 3 rbis to lead the Triggers. John Nicholson was 3-4 with 3 rbis for the Triggers.

Joey Cecere went 3-3 for the Garden City Wind.

With the win the Trinidad Triggers will advance to the Pecos League Finals where they will face either the Tucson Saguaros on Tuesday or the Roswell Invaders on Sunday. Those two teams are playing in the Southern Division Finals in Tucson.

Garden City, Kansas-The Trinidad Triggers took game one of the best of three series on Wednesday Night at Clint Lightner Field. Garden City jumped on Trinidad starter Kyle McKay who allowed 5 runs in the bottom of the first inning including a three run homer by Eli Roundtree.

The Triggers chipped away and chased starter Austin Boyle from the game after 5 innings. John Nicholson had key rbi doubles in both the 3rd and 4th innings where the Triggers scored two runs in each inning. Cameron Powers pitched a scoreless 6th for the Wind. In the 7th inning the Triggers scored three runs off of reliever Craig Jaquez and another run off of Chip White to take a 9-5 lead. Eli Roundtree doubled in another run in the 7th for Garden City but that would be all the offense the Wind could generate.

On the mound for the Triggers Daniel Karasinki helped Kyle McKay get out of the first inning and pitched another scoreless inning. Jake Swartout pitched two scoreless innings Eric Williams pitched three innings allowing two runs, but also went 2-4 at the plate as a hitter. Dominic Monda and Paul Fahey combined to pitch a scoreless 8th Toby Eigner pitched another scoreless 9th for the Triggers.

The two teams meet again Thursday Night for Game 2 in Garden City. Start time is 6:30 CST.

The Trinidad Triggers (35-29) and the Garden City Wind (38-26) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Trinidad Triggers that eventually took advantage of them in a 4-3 win at Clint Lightner.

Jason Webb got on base two times in the game for the Trinidad Triggers. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the sixth inning.

Denver Diefenbachs eight strikeouts were enough to push the Trinidad Triggers past the Garden City Wind. Diefenbach allowed three earned runs, 11 hits and three walks over nine innings.

Beau Welborn led the Garden City Winds offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and homered in the seventh inning.

The Garden City Wind (38-25) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 14-2 to the Trinidad Triggers (34-29) on Wednesday.

A three-run home run by Jason Webb gave the Trinidad Triggers the lead in the fifth inning.

The Trinidad Triggers blew out the Garden City Wind thanks to 16 hits, including zero extra base hits. A two-run home run by Edmund Cheatham and a two-run home run by Daniel Karasinski helped the Trinidad Triggers score four runs in the eighth. The Trinidad Triggers had three hits in the inning.

Nick Todero racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Trinidad Triggers. He singled in the third and fifth innings and homered in the seventh inning.

Eric Williams recorded his second win of the year for the Trinidad Triggers. He allowed one run over three innings. Williams struck out four, walked three and gave up three hits.

Ryan Riordan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

The Trinidad Triggers hammered the Garden City Wind pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 11 hits, 13 RBIs and nine runs scored.

Ardeeser racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Garden City Wind. He homered in the ninth inning.

DJ Carr allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.

The Garden City Wind (30-23) shut the door early on the Great Bend Boom (18-33), capturing a 14-2 victory on Sunday at Moffet Stadium.

With eight runs in the first three innings, the Garden City Wind left no doubt about the eventual outcome. A groundout by Beau Welborn in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Matt Consigli and an RBI single by Joey Cecere during the second inning helped the Garden City Wind put some runs on the board early.

Tasis blasted two home runs for the Great Bend Boom. Tasis went 2-4 in the game with two RBIs and three runs scored. Tasis homered in the second and third innings.

Jordan Caillouet hit two home runs to carry the Topeka Train Robbers (9-12) to a 12-4 win over the Garden City Wind (11-10) at Bettis Complex.

The Topeka Train Robbers blew out the Garden City Wind thanks to 13 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Topeka Train Robbers scored three runs in the seventh on the Topeka Train Robbers scored in the seventh on an RBI double by Dmitry Shtykher, an RBI single by Sam Pack, and a fielders choice.

Shtykher had an impressive outing against the Garden City Winds lineup. The Garden City Wind managed just two hits off of Shtykher, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out three during his five innings of work.

Manny Colon racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Garden City Wind. He homered in the seventh inning.

The Garden City Wind (7-9) jumped on the Trinidad Triggers (12-6) early on their way to a 10-5 win on Saturday at Central Park, scoring seven runs in the first inning.

The Garden City Wind scored in the first on a three-run home run by Eli Roundtree, an RBI single by Nick Francis, a two-run single by Eric Esquilin, and an RBI single by Joey Cecere.

Roundtree racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Garden City Wind.

The Trinidad Triggers had no answer for Jonathan Ovalles, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Ovalles held the Trinidad Triggers hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Jason Webb got on base four times in the game for the Trinidad Triggers. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first and fifth innings.

A magnificent effort by Caleb Baker hoisted the Trinidad Triggers (12-5) to a 23-6 win over the Garden City Wind (6-9) on Friday at Clint Lightner.

Baker racked up eight RBIs on three hits for the Trinidad Triggers. He doubled in the first inning and homered in the second and fifth innings.

The Trinidad Triggers ran up the score, scoring runs at will until the final out. The Trinidad Triggers scored three runs in the final three innings to cap the blowout win. The Trinidad Triggers scored seven runs in the first on the Trinidad Triggers scored in the first on an RBI single by Jason Webb, a three-run double by Baker, and a three-run home run by Ryan Santhon.

Santhon got his second win for the Trinidad Triggers despite allowing six runs over seven innings. He struck out 10, walked six and surrendered 11 hits.

With eight runs in the first three innings, the Trinidad Triggers left no doubt about the eventual outcome. A solo home run by Trevor Sealey and a three-run home run by Eric Magee in the first inning and a three-run double by Eric William during the second inning fueled the Trinidad Triggers offense early.

The Roswell Invaders stamped out any hope for the Garden City Wind with seven runs in the seventh. The Roswell Invaders scored in the seventh on an error, a two-run double by Jim Smith, a three-run home run by Cody Coffman, and a fielders choice.

Even in defeat, Clay Ardeeser played well for the Garden City Wind.

The City of Garden City has given C

The City of Garden City has given Clint Lightner a complete makeover. In 2014 Clint Lightner had its first round of upgrades with new lighting and a fieldturf infield. In 2016 Clint Lightner has received many upgrades including (New expanded dugouts, new bullpens, new sound system, new netting behind home plate, wall pads behind home plate and fencing extended to each dugout). "This place looks great I am glad to have it as our home!" says Garden City Wind Manager Bill Moore.

Garden City also rebuilt their JV Field which behind the right field fence. The Bullpen mounds are artificial and were built to the same spec as the game mound. Also improvements were made to the parking lot area. Garden City hosts Pecos League Spring Training from May 10-18 before hosting the Trinidad Triggers on May 19 for the 2016 opener.

Bill Moore will be the Field Manage

Bill Moore will be the Field Manager for the Garden City 2016 season. Bill lives in Mesa, Arizona and managed the Santa Fe Fuego in the Pecos League from 2012-2015. The Fuego won the Pecos League Championship in 2014. Bill was named manager of the year in 2014.

"I look forward to building a team in Garden City. I don"t know alot about Garden City but the week I spent there we loved it. I love riding the train to games. I know it will be a very tough division and the low altitude and astroturf was totally different than Santa Fe." says Moore.

Bill Moore will manage his Garden of Gears in the Pecos Spring League for the 4th year in a row in March. Spring Training will begin in Garden City on May 13, 2016
