David Peterson has been named 2017 Garden City Wind Field Manager. David spent the 2016 season on the Salina Stockade"s coaching staff. David spent the 2015 season on the Garden City Wind"s coaching staff.

"Garden City is the best city in the Pecos League. The city has done a great job with the ballpark and the people are great. I am ready for the 2017 season." says Peterson

the Garden City Wind will begin Spring Training on May 19th in Garden City. The 2017 regular season begins at home on May 26th.

August 5 2016 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Garden City Wind 11-1 after collecting 17 hits and scoring in four of the final six innings. Garden City took a brief 1-0 lead in the third inning, but Trinidad answered with one run in the fourth and two in the fifth before breaking the game open with four-run rallies in the sixth and eighth.

Erik Poldroo led the Triggers offensively with four hits in five at-bats, two runs and three RBI, including a home run. John Nicholson added three hits and three RBI, while Brian Frazier scored four runs and reached base three times with two hits and a walk. Nicholas Todero and Caleb Baker also collected two hits apiece as Trinidad finished with 17 hits and no errors.

Joe Robinson earned the win for Trinidad by allowing one run on seven hits over six innings. He walked one and struck out six. Daniel Karasinski followed with a scoreless inning and two strikeouts, while Jake Swartout and Toby Eigner each worked a scoreless inning to complete the victory. Ryan Riordan took the loss for Garden City after surrendering three runs on nine hits in five innings.

Garden City Wind 5 Trinidad Triggers 3 Garden City, Kansas-The Garden City Wind evened the three games series at a game a piece with the Trinidad Triggers on Thursday Night. connor Kelly pitched 7 innings for the Wind allowing 3 runs while striking out 6. Charles Bahn pitched a scoreless 8th and Chris Gammon closed the 9th to preserve the win. Christian Schneider pitched 5-2/3 innings for the Triggers allowing 5 runs. Scott Stonestreet came on in the 6th inning to escape the inning without allowing a run. Dominic Monda pitched 1-2/3 innings of scoreless ball. Carl Brice came on to get the last out in the 8th inning for the Triggers.

John Nicholson continued to carry the hot bat for the Triggers he hit a two run homer in the 2nd. Willie Ethington hit a huge 3 run homer in the 6th. Manny Colon followed him with a solo homer of his own to give the Wind a 5-2 lead. The Triggers would score one run in the 7th but that would be the end of the scoring.

The two teams will connect for the third and deciding game of the three game series tonight in Garden City. The winner will travel to face the winner of Roswell and Tucson for the Pecos League Championship.

Garden City, Kansas-The Trinidad Triggers took game one of the best of three series on Wednesday Night at Clint Lightner Field. Garden City jumped on Trinidad starter Kyle McKay who allowed 5 runs in the bottom of the first inning including a three run homer by Eli Roundtree.

The Triggers chipped away and chased starter Austin Boyle from the game after 5 innings. John Nicholson had key rbi doubles in both the 3rd and 4th innings where the Triggers scored two runs in each inning. Cameron Powers pitched a scoreless 6th for the Wind. In the 7th inning the Triggers scored three runs off of reliever Craig Jaquez and another run off of Chip White to take a 9-5 lead. Eli Roundtree doubled in another run in the 7th for Garden City but that would be all the offense the Wind could generate.

On the mound for the Triggers Daniel Karasinki helped Kyle McKay get out of the first inning and pitched another scoreless inning. Jake Swartout pitched two scoreless innings Eric Williams pitched three innings allowing two runs, but also went 2-4 at the plate as a hitter. Dominic Monda and Paul Fahey combined to pitch a scoreless 8th Toby Eigner pitched another scoreless 9th for the Triggers.

The two teams meet again Thursday Night for Game 2 in Garden City. Start time is 6:30 CST.

July 28 2016 The Trinidad Triggers scored three runs in the sixth inning to take the lead and held on for a 4-3 victory over the Garden City Wind. Garden City scored once in the first and third innings to lead 2-0, but Trinidad answered with a run in the fifth and the decisive three-run sixth. The Wind added a run in the seventh, but neither team scored in the final two innings.

Trinidad finished with eight hits, led by Caleb Baker with two hits. Jason Webb scored twice and drove in a run, while Collin Carroll had one RBI. Garden City collected 11 hits, with Willie Ethington going 3-for-4 and Beau Welborn and Clay Ardeeser each recording two hits. Welborn also hit a home run and drove in one run, while Eli Roundtree added an RBI.

Denver Diefenbach earned the win for Trinidad with a complete-game effort, allowing 11 hits and three runs while walking three and striking out eight over nine innings. Garden City starter Connor Kelly allowed one run on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts in five innings. Scott Torrey took the loss after giving up three runs in one inning.

Trinidad scored once in the third inning before breaking the game open with four runs in the fifth, one in the sixth, four in the seventh and four in the eighth. Garden City scored once in the second and third innings and was held scoreless over the final six frames.

Nicholas Todero and Erick Magee each collected three hits for Trinidad. Todero drove in two runs, while Magee added two RBI and scored once. Jason Webb had three RBI, and Trevor Sealey, Collin Carroll and Edmund Cheatham also contributed multiple-hit games or RBI performances. Trinidad hit four home runs, with Todero, Webb, Cheatham and Erik Poldroo each going deep. Poldroo delivered two RBI in one at-bat.

Eric Williams earned the win after allowing three hits and one earned run in three innings with four strikeouts and three walks. Daniel Karasinski opened with two innings, and the Trinidad bullpen combined for four scoreless innings, including one inning each from Paul Fahey and Toby Eigner. A walk-off two-run blast from Clay Ardeeser brought home the winning run for the Garden City Wind (38-24) in a 5-4 victory over the Trinidad Triggers at Clint Lightner on Tuesday.

Ardeeser racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Garden City Wind. He homered in the ninth inning.

DJ Carr allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Cameron Powers improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Garden City Wind. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Monda ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs. With the win Garden City is locked into the #1 seed and will host the 2nd round of the playoffs beginning Wed August 3rd.

Bradley Cuyos went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs for Trinidad, while Caleb Baker added two hits and two RBIs. Trinidad collected 10 hits and scored three times in the sixth and once in the seventh but could not complete the comeback.

Clay Ardeeser led Garden City with four hits four runs and one RBI. Matthew Consigli added three hits and one RBI while Beau Welborn and Nicholas Francis each had three hits. Frazier rocked the Garden City Wind with two home runs. Frazier went 2-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Frazier homered in the sixth and ninth innings.

Daniel Karasinski handled the Garden City Winds lineup with ease, racking up eight strikeouts. Karasinski allowed three earned runs on six hits and two walks over eight innings.

The teams totaled 27 hits in the game.

Trevor Sealey racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Trinidad Triggers. He homered in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the eighth inning.

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Thursday as the Roswell Invaders (5-2) outscored the Garden City Wind (3-4) 23-14.

The two teams combined for 46 hits in the game.

The Roswell Invaders stamped out any hope for the Garden City Wind with seven runs in the seventh. The Roswell Invaders scored in the seventh on an error, a two-run double by Jim Smith, a three-run home run by Cody Coffman, and a fielders choice.

Even in defeat, Clay Ardeeser played well for the Garden City Wind.

Ardeeser had three extra-base hits for the Garden City Wind. He homered in the fifth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

The Roswell Invaders couldnt get anything going so long as Ardeeser was on the hill. Ardeeser held the Roswell Invaders hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Coffman racked up seven RBIs on five hits for the Roswell Invaders.

Even though TJ Pruneda allowed six runs over 5 2/3 innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered 10 hits.

Craig Jaquez (0-2) took the loss for the Garden City Wind. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs.

The Roswell Invaders hammered the Garden City Wind pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 27 hits, 18 RBIs and 20 runs scored.

Joey Miller clubbed two home runs, but it wasnt enough to carry the Roswell Invaders (4-2) to a win on Wednesday, as the Roswell Invaders fell to the Garden City Wind (3-3) 15-9 at Clint Lightner.

Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 24 runs and 37 hits, including zero extra base hits.

The offense exploded for the the Garden City Wind in the first. The Roswell Invaders had no answer as the Garden City Wind scored nine runs. The Garden City Wind scored in the first on an RBI single by Beau Welborn, a two-run home run by Eli Roundtree, a two-run home run by Manny Colon, an RBI single by Austin Boyle, an RBI single by Boyle, a two-run single by Matt Consigli, and an error.

Boyle got his first win for the Garden City Wind despite allowing eight runs over six innings. Boyle struck out two, walked three and gave up 12 hits.

Lance Fairchild (1-1) took the loss for the Roswell Invaders. He allowed nine runs in one-third of an inning, walked none and struck out none.

The Garden City Wind pounded the Roswell Invaders pitching, as seven hitters combined for 20 hits, 13 RBIs and 12 runs scored.

The Roswell Invaders (4-1) continued to pile up the runs on Tuesday, scoring nine runs in the last three innings, on the way to a 22-6 landslide win over the Garden City Wind (2-3) at Clint Lightner.

The Roswell Invaders scored nine runs in the second on the Roswell Invaders scored in the second on an RBI single by David Johnson, a two-run single by Christian Johnson, a two-run single by Cody Bishop, and a home run by Cody Coffman.

Bishop racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Roswell Invaders.

The Roswell Invaders relied on Johnson to eat up innings en route to the win. Johnson pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out four.

Clay Ardeeser led the Garden City Winds offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He singled in the fourth, eighth, and ninth innings.

Ryan Stapp was the games losing pitcher. He allowed nine runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.

Manny Colon went 1-4 and hit a home run as the Garden City Wind (2-2) took home a 5-2 victory over the Roswell Invaders (3-1) at Clint Lightner on Monday. He homered in the sixth inning.

Marty Anderson picked up the win for the Garden City Wind. Anderson allowed two earned runs, eight hits and one walk while striking out six over 7 2/3 innings of work.

Steven Cazares took the loss for the Roswell Invaders. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed two runs.

Trevor Sealey collected three hits, helping the Trinidad Triggers (1-1) to a 3-2 victory over the Garden City Wind (1-1) on Friday. He singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.

The Trinidad Triggers relied on Christian Schneider to eat up innings en route to the win. Schneider allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.

Craig Jaquez was effective even in defeat, mowing down eight the Trinidad Triggers batters and allowing three runs.

Eli Roundtree was hot from the plate for the Garden City Wind. Roundtree went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning and singled in the fourth and sixth innings.

The Garden City Wind (1-0) beat the Trinidad Triggers (0-1) 5-2 on Thursday at Clint Lightner behind Ken Olszewski, who drove in three runs. He homered in the eighth inning.

Austin Boyle had an impressive outing against the Trinidad Triggers lineup. The Trinidad Triggers managed just two hits off of the the Garden City Winds pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked three and struck out seven during his seven innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Trinidad Triggers Joe Robinson dominated the Garden City Winds batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.

Pedro Bacame got the win for the Garden City Wind. He tossed one inning of shutout ball. Bacame struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.

Jake Swartout was the games losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

The City of Garden City has given C

The City of Garden City has given Clint Lightner a complete makeover. In 2014 Clint Lightner had its first round of upgrades with new lighting and a fieldturf infield. In 2016 Clint Lightner has received many upgrades including (New expanded dugouts, new bullpens, new sound system, new netting behind home plate, wall pads behind home plate and fencing extended to each dugout). "This place looks great I am glad to have it as our home!" says Garden City Wind Manager Bill Moore.

Garden City also rebuilt their JV Field which behind the right field fence. The Bullpen mounds are artificial and were built to the same spec as the game mound. Also improvements were made to the parking lot area. Garden City hosts Pecos League Spring Training from May 10-18 before hosting the Trinidad Triggers on May 19 for the 2016 opener.

Bill Moore will be the Field Manage

Bill Moore will be the Field Manager for the Garden City 2016 season. Bill lives in Mesa, Arizona and managed the Santa Fe Fuego in the Pecos League from 2012-2015. The Fuego won the Pecos League Championship in 2014. Bill was named manager of the year in 2014.

"I look forward to building a team in Garden City. I don"t know alot about Garden City but the week I spent there we loved it. I love riding the train to games. I know it will be a very tough division and the low altitude and astroturf was totally different than Santa Fe." says Moore.

Bill Moore will manage his Garden of Gears in the Pecos Spring League for the 4th year in a row in March. Spring Training will begin in Garden City on May 13, 2016
