Garden City Wind General Manager is joining the front office of the Jackson Generals. The Jackson Generals are a minor league baseball team of the Southern League and the Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The team is located in Jackson, Tennessee.

Garden City scored all five of its first-inning runs before adding an insurance run in the sixth. Santa Fe answered with one run in the first, two in the fourth, one in the seventh and one in the eighth, but could not complete the comeback.

Ryan Whitt led the Wind offense with two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs. Taylor Zeutenhorst and Roundtree604.html>Eli Roundtree also homered for Garden City, with Zeutenhorst driving in one run and Roundtree contributing two hits and one RBI. Garden City finished with nine hits and drew five walks.

Santa Fe collected 14 hits, led by Matt Haskins, who went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and one RBI. Willie Doll went 2-for-5 with an RBI, while AJ Flores added two hits and one RBI. The Fuego also recorded four stolen bases, including two by Nick Gotta.

Mason Mayberry earned the win for Garden City after allowing eight hits and three runs, two earned, in four innings. He struck out five and walked one. Zak Qualls followed with 3.2 innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits while striking out four, and Jack Finnegan closed with 1.1 scoreless innings. Santa Fe collected 11 hits and scored in the first two innings, the fifth and the sixth. Garden City answered with five runs in the eighth inning but could not complete the comeback.

Willie Doll led Santa Fe with three hits, including a double, while Eric Maria also had three hits and a double. AJ Flores scored twice and drove in a run, and Caleb Baker hit a two-run home run. David Stone, Doll and Rob Garza also homered for the Fuego, with Stone and Doll adding one RBI apiece. Cody Bishop led Roswell with two hits and five RBIs, including a home run. J. Miller went 3-for-3 with three runs, one RBI and two walks, while Kaohu Gaspar and J. Pritchard each had two hits and scored twice. Bobby Webb also collected two hits and a double.

Darrell Thompson earned the win after allowing six hits and four earned runs in seven innings. He struck out 10 and walked four. Conner Camacho worked a scoreless eighth inning with two strikeouts before Dylan Porter completed the game.

Pugh, who went 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs and three RBIs. Crisford Adames added two hits and three RBIs, while Angel Martinez had two hits and scored three runs. JJ Graham contributed a hit and an RBI.

Flecha earned the win by allowing four hits and one walk over eight scoreless innings, striking out six while throwing 79 of 125 pitches for strikes. Luke Wiechec completed the shutout with a scoreless ninth inning.

June 6 2017 The Alpine Cowboys rallied past the Garden City Wind 10-9 at Kokernot Field in a high-scoring seven-inning game. Alpine finished with 16 hits and one error while Garden City collected 14 hits without an error.

Alpine took a 3-0 lead after two innings before Garden City erupted for four runs in the third. The Cowboys answered with six runs in the fourth to move ahead 9-5, and both teams added a run in the fifth. Garden City scored three times in the fifth and once in the seventh to tie the game at 9-9 before Alpine scored the deciding run in the bottom of the seventh.

JJ Graham led Alpine with three hits including two home runs and four RBI. John Giakas added three hits and one RBI, while Jonathan Moroney had two hits including a home run and three RBI. Crisford Adames also homered and drove in one run. Garden City received three hits and three RBI from Ray Hernandez, while Ryan Whitt and Eli Roundtree each homered and drove in two runs.

Cam Carney earned the win after allowing five earned runs on eight hits with two walks and four strikeouts in four innings. Andrew Millner recorded the save with one inning of relief, allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out two. Garden City starter Kevin Delzell took the loss after surrendering nine earned runs on 11 hits in 3.2 innings.

Garden City finished with 16 hits and overcame a 3-0 first-inning deficit by scoring 11 runs in the fifth inning. Alpine answered with three runs in the fifth and added single runs in the sixth eighth and ninth but could not hold the lead late.

Ryan Whitt led Garden City with three hits six RBI and two runs, including a home run and two doubles. Mike Rachun also had three hits and two RBI, while Joey Cecere reached base five times with two hits and three walks. Garden City also received home runs from Jean Carlos Peralta and Whitt and scored three times in the 11th inning to secure the victory.

Alpine"s Jonathan Moroney went 4-for-6 with four runs and two RBI, including a home run. JJ Graham added three hits three RBI and a home run, while Brandon Pugh had two hits and three RBI with a homer. Alpine collected 16 hits overall but stranded seven runners.

Jack Finnegan earned the win for Garden City after allowing two runs on two hits with four strikeouts in four innings. Brandon Anderson struck out four in 4.1 innings but allowed seven earned runs, while Josh Mollett surrendered four earned runs in 2.1 innings. Andrew Millner took the loss for Alpine after giving up three runs on three hits and two walks in 1.2 innings.

The Fuego finished with eight hits and no errors while Garden City also collected eight hits but committed one error.

Caleb Baker went 2-for-3 and scored twice for Santa Fe. Eric Maria added a 3-for-4 performance with a double and one run, while David Stone drove in two runs. Erick Magee and Dan Karasinski also recorded RBIs for the Fuego. Santa Fe did not hit a home run.

Karasinski earned the win after allowing eight hits and one walk over eight scoreless innings, striking out six. Dillion Sunnafrank completed the shutout with a hitless ninth inning and two strikeouts. Garden City starter Dalton Bernardi took the loss after giving up three earned runs on five hits in seven innings with one walk and four strikeouts.

Santa Fe and Garden City exchanged runs in the first inning, but the Fuego moved ahead with two runs in the second. Garden City answered with a five-run third inning to take a 6-3 lead before Santa Fe regained control.

Santa Fe scored twice in the fourth, once in the fifth and three times in the sixth to complete the comeback. The Fuego held Garden City scoreless over the final six innings. Santa Fe finished with 10 hits, while Garden City collected 11.

Erick Magee led Santa Fe with three hits and one RBI. Eric Maria went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Ed Brandsema added a hit, scored once and drove in two runs. For Garden City, Cameron Ketchen and Mike Rachun each had two hits, with Ketchen hitting a home run and driving in one run. Ray Hernandez also homered and finished with three RBI.

Brandsema earned the win after allowing six runs on 10 hits in six innings while striking out five. May 31 2017 The Trinidad Triggers rallied past the Garden City Wind 7-6 at Central Park in a game that featured 22 combined hits. Trinidad collected 13 hits and overcame a three-run deficit late, while Garden City finished with nine hits and three errors.

Garden City scored twice in the first inning and added runs in the fourth seventh and eighth. Trinidad answered with one run in the first and another in the third before both teams broke through in the seventh. The Triggers scored three in the bottom of the seventh to take a 5-4 lead, then Garden City regained a 6-5 advantage in the top of the eighth. Trinidad responded with two runs in the bottom half to secure the victory.

J. Randle led Trinidad with four hits in four at-bats and drove in one run. P. Llewellyn scored twice and had two RBI while K. Fudge and J. Brown each contributed two RBI. Justin Busekrus scored twice and had two hits. For Garden City Taylor Zeutenhorst went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a triple, while Mike Rachun and Cameron Ketchen each had two hits and two RBI.

Adam Falcon earned the win after allowing one run on two hits with three strikeouts in one inning. David Gates recorded the save with a scoreless ninth that included two strikeouts. Trinidad collected 10 hits and scored once in the first inning and again in the third before the teams traded three-run innings in the fifth. The Triggers then scored twice in the sixth and twice more in the eighth to secure the victory.

Eric Ferguson led Trinidad’s offense by going 3-for-5 with four runs and three RBI. He also hit a home run and a pair of triples. Tim Henry added two hits and three RBI, while Pat Llewellyn and J. Randle each contributed two RBI. Justin Busekrus went 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and a stolen base.

Garden City received two hits and an RBI from Morgan Blatnik, while Eli Roundtree and Nick Wagner also collected two hits. The Wind scored once in the fourth, three times in the fifth and once in the sixth, but could not overcome the deficit. Garden City finished with eight hits and committed four errors, compared with three errors for Trinidad.

Teddy Henderson earned the win for Trinidad after allowing five runs, four earned, on seven hits over six innings. He walked three and struck out three. Matt Picucci, C. Strayer and David Gates combined to hold Garden City scoreless over the final three innings. Trinidad built an 8-7 lead with three runs in the third inning, two in the seventh, and one each in the first, eighth, and 10th. J. Randle went 3-for-6 with a home run and three RBI, while P. Llewellyn also drove in three runs. Justin Busekrus and Eric Ferguson each had three hits, and Trinidad stole six bases as a team.

Garden City answered with five runs in the fourth, added a run in the fifth and seventh, and then scored twice in the 10th to secure the victory. Jean Carlos Peralta went 3-for-4 with two RBI, Ryan Whitt collected three hits and two RBI, and Taylor Zeutenhorst and T. Ellis also had three hits apiece. The Wind made the difference early by scoring six runs in the first inning, four in the second and 14 in the third to take a 24-1 lead.

Garden City catcher T. Ellis delivered a standout performance with three hits, three runs and 10 RBIs, including two home runs. Jean Carlos Peralta went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a home run, while Taylor Zeutenhorst collected five hits, scored four runs and drove in two. Cameron Ketchen added three hits and two RBIs, and Mike Rachun contributed two RBIs.

Both teams scored in the first inning, but Trinidad moved ahead with a run in the fourth and added an insurance run in the ninth. Jayson Baytop scored once and had one hit, while Tim Henry scored twice and added a hit. Jabari Brown led the Triggers with two hits, and Kenneth Fudge also had a hit.

Brandon Erickson earned the win after allowing two hits and one earned run over six innings. He issued two walks and struck out 12. C. Strayer, Adam Falcon and David Gates combined to finish the game, with Gates recording the save after a scoreless ninth inning.

On 5/18/2017 the Stockade head to Wichita to open their American Association Campaign with the Wingnuts. The Wind head back to Garden City to play the Trinidad Triggers.

2017 will be the 3rd season for the Wind at Historic Clint Lightner Field in Garden City. In 2017 the Pecos League will be as close to a balanced schedule as ever. This reflects with the Wind playing 35 home games and 29 road games in 2017.

The Wind will play five different teams in 2017.

The Wind will play in the Mountain Division with Roswell, White Sands, Trinidad, Salina and Santa Fe.

The Wind open the regular season at home on May 25th against the Trinidad Triggers.

2017 Pecos League Mountain All-Star Game Comes to Garden City

The Pecos League of Professional Baseball, as well as the community of Garden City, are pleased to announce that the 2017 Pecos Mountain All-Star Game will be held in Garden City on July 11th, at Clint Lightner Field. The format for this years All-Star Game will be "New Mexico vs. The League. The New Mexico teams include The Santa Fe Fuego, The White Sands Pupfish and The Roswell Invaders. Their opponents will include The Trinidad Triggers, The Alpine Cowboys and the host, Garden City Wind. Game time is set for 7:00pm and will be preceded by a home run derby, tentatively scheduled for 3:00pm. Plans are also under way for special events to be held July 10th with an announcement to follow.

The Pecos League of Professional Baseball is an independent professional baseball league which operates in cities in desert mountain regions throughout New Mexico, Southern Arizona, Kansas, West Texas, Southern Colorado and California. Pecos League teams play in cities that do not have Major or Minor League Baseball teams and is not affiliated with either. The leagues high power offenses are fueled by higher altitudes and smaller ballparks. The average elevation in the Pecos League is 4870 feet. Our players come from all over the world and are a combination of rising stars, shooting stars and athletes with stars in their eyes. Our communities take tremendous pride in their teams. The Pecos League has promoted 312 players too higher independent and affiliated teams from 2010-2016. Players are signed from Pecos Spring League, Hudson River League, Pecos League Tryout Camps and Major League Baseball Scout referrals. The 2017 Pecos League regular season begins May 25th.

Garden City Wind will host Lincoln Saltdogs in Salina May 17th at 2PM

The Garden City Wind will host the

The Garden City Wind will host the Pecos League"s first Exhibition Game of the 2017 season when they host the Lincoln Saltdogs of the American Association on May 17, 2016 at Dean Evans Stadium in Salina, Kansas.

The Saltdogs will open their regular season in Kansas City on May 19th. The Wind will begin their regular season May 25th in Garden City. Salina is halfway between the two cities.

This will be the first time since 2011 that a Pecos League Team will host an American Association Team. The Las Cruces Vaqueros hosted the El Paso Diablos on May 9, 2011.

The Pecos League has played numerous Spring Training Games against the American Association since then (Joplin, Amarillo, El Paso, Wichita)
