David Peterson will return to Garde

David Peterson will return to Garden City as the 2020 manager of the Garden City Wind.

David managed the Wind in 2017 before leaving to manage the California City Whiptails to Pacific Division playoff appereance in 2018. He returned to the Wind in 2019. David lead the Wind to their best season ever in 2019 finishing 2nd in the Mountain Division and hosting a first round playoff series against Roswell.

David has served as manager of Salina Stockade on all teams since inception of the team. In 2016 he was with the Salina Stockade the entire season in Pecos League. In 2017 he finished the season in the American Association with the Stockade. In 2018 he managed the Stockade in the Pecos Spring League and in the CanAm League.

2020 will mark the 6th year of the Garden City Wind. The Regular Season begins May 29 in Garden City. For information on the Wind visit http://www.GardenCityWind.com

August 6 2019 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Garden City Wind 6-2 at Clint Lightner, using a 14-hit attack and a strong complete-game performance from Carson Corff. Garden City finished with seven hits and two errors, while Roswell committed one error.

Roswell and Garden City traded runs in the second inning before the Wind took a 2-1 lead with another run in the third. The Invaders moved in front with two runs in the fifth and added two more in the sixth to take a 5-2 advantage. Roswell added its final run in the eighth.

Kirby Lambert led the Invaders with three hits and two RBI. Matt Paciello also collected three hits, while Austin Maltby had two hits including a double. Pete Yorgen went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Daryl Donerson scored twice while driving in a run. Carson Lee paced Garden City with three hits and an RBI.

Corff earned the win by throwing all nine innings, allowing seven hits and two runs with one earned run, five walks and seven strikeouts. Zack Kammerman took the loss after allowing three runs on eight hits in five innings, with three strikeouts and two walks.

Garden City surged ahead with seven runs in the second inning and added another run in the fourth to take an 8-1 lead. Roswell answered with four runs in the third, then added one in the fifth and two in the seventh before breaking the game open with four runs in the ninth.

The Garden City Wind will hold a one day tryout camp at Clint Lightner Ballpark Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 9 AM – 12 PM MDT. The tryout camp will be conducted by Wind Field Manager David Peterson. The Wind are looking for players to play in the 2019 season. The cost for a player to attend the tryout is $100 and pre-registration is required. Players can register at this link. 2019 will be the 5th year of Garden City Wind Baseball. The Wind open the season at home against the Trinidad Triggers on May 30.

The Garden City Wind have released their 2019 schedule. 2019 will be the 5th season of Wind Baseball in Garden City.

The Wind will play in the Pecos Leagues Mountain Division with the White Sands Pupfish, Alpine Cowboys, Santa Fe Fuego, Santa Fe Fuego and Roswell Invaders.

The Wind will begin Spring Training on May 23 in Garden City. The Wind will open the Regular Season on May 30 in Garden City against the Trinidad Triggers.

David Peterson will serve as the 20

David Peterson will serve as the 2019 manager of the Garden City Wind. David managed the Wind in 2017 before leaving to manage the California City Whiptails to Pacific Division playoff appereance in 2018. "I wanted to go back to Garden City. California City was great but I truely believe Garden City is the best city in the Pecos League. Garden City needs a winner now and I can improve the team immediately and make them competitive."

David has served as manager of Salina Stockade on all teams since inception of the team. In 2016 he was with the Salina Stockade the entire season in Pecos League. In 2017 he finished the season in the American Association with the Stockade. In 2018 he managed the Stockade in the Pecos Spring League and in the CanAm League.

2019 will mark the 5th year of the Garden City Wind. The Regular Season begins May 30 in Garden City. The Pecos League Schedule is due to be released on or before December 15. For information on the Wind visit http://www.GardenCityWind.com

The Garden City Wind will return to the Pecos League for the 2019 season.

2019 will be the 5th season for the Wind in Kansas. The Wind will have a balanced schedule with more weekend home games than they had in 2016 and 2017.

The Wind will open the 2019 season in Alpine on May 27.
