The Garden City Wind release their

The Garden City Wind release their 2022 Schedule. 2022 will mark the 7th year of baseball in Western Kansas for the Pecos League. The Wind will have $1 beer on Thursday Night which remains a Garden City Tradition.

The Wind will play in the battle for Kansas in Spring Training. The Wind will travel to Kansas City to face Americas number one independent baseball team in the American Association Champions Kansas City Monarchs on May 10 and May 11 at Legends Field.

The Garden City Wind released their 2022 Home Jersey. The jerseys are White with Royal Garden City Script. The Wind will be only the third Pecos League team to ever wear white jerseys (Bakersfield 2018 and Alpine 2012).

Pecos League Teams dont wear traditional white and grey and teams typically have one solid color jersey. The Wind wore Powder Blue in 2015 and 2016 before switching to Royal Blue for 2017-2021. The Wind will keep their Royal Blue Jerseys for Road Games and home alternate.

2022 will mark the 7th season of Wind Baseball in Western Kansas. The Wind will open the 2022 season in Garden City against the Alpine Cowboys on June 2, 2022. For up to date information about the Wind visit their website at http://www.GardenCityWind.com

August 14 2021 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Garden City Wind 7-3 after breaking open a tied game with three runs in the eighth inning and two more in the ninth. Roswell finished with eight hits and no errors while Garden City collected six hits and committed one error.

Roswell and Garden City exchanged two-run rallies in the first inning before the Wind took a 3-2 lead in the second. The Invaders pulled even with a three-run eighth and added two insurance runs in the ninth to complete the comeback. Cole Chambers went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, Hunter Hill doubled and drove in two runs, and Mike Flohr added a home run and one RBI. Jakob Schuler also contributed an RBI.

Carter Coats earned the win for Roswell with 4.1 scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out three. Jonathan Fleckenstein recorded the save with two scoreless innings and two strikeouts. Ashton Holdridge opened for Roswell and allowed three runs in 2.2 innings. Garden City opened the scoring with a run in the first inning, but Colorado Springs moved ahead with two runs in the sixth and another in the seventh. The Wind answered in the eighth, with Cartaya Jr. hitting a two-run home run and Manuel Blanco adding an RBI. Cartaya Jr. finished 1-for-1 with two RBI and a run scored, while Preston Rackley and Alex Nielsen each collected two hits. McCain Mason also had two hits, and Rackley recorded a triple.

Dakota Popham led the Snow Sox with two home runs, two hits and five RBIs, while Markus Bracey went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs and four RBIs. Matt Geoffrion added two hits, two runs and three RBIs, and Travis Tanaka scored three runs while reaching base four times. Robert Malone contributed three hits, including two doubles, and two runs.

Garden City received a four-hit performance from Manuel Blanco, who scored three runs and drove in one.
