Randy Ralston of the Garden City Wind has been named General Manager of the Year for the 2025 Mountain Division Season.

The Wind hosted the All-Star Game in 2025 in July. There were nightly (ketchup-mustard-relish) races. The Wind also hosted UFO Baseball Game between Police and Fire called Heroes in the Dark. Throughout the course of the Summer the Wind continued to have great crowds and a great experience.

The Tucson Saguaros completed a two-game road sweep in Garden City Thursday with a 9-5 win over the Wind at Clint Lightner Field, clinching the Pecos Leagues Mountain Division title series and securing a berth in the League Championship Series against Pacific Division champs San Rafael in Arizona. As in Wednesdays series opener, Tucson jumped out to an early lead with Gavy Perez-Torres singling Jacob Elizondo home in the top of the first inning. The Saguaros added three tallies in the third as Elizondo crashed a two-run homer and then tacked on three more in the fourth when Antonio Fernandez detonated a solo bomb and Marquise Wood stroked a two-run double to give the Cacti a 7-0 lead.

Garden City pushed three counters of their own in the bottom of the fourth highlighted by a Jacob Talamante homer and Rob Morosetti scoring from third on a successful double steal. The two teams traded runs in the fifth, with Tucsons Anthony Manisero coming in on Brian Ledezmas sacrifice fly followed by the Winds Kaleb Scull scoring on a Talamante double to cut the Saguaros lead to 8-4. Perez-Torres homered for an insurance run in the ninth, since no lead is safe in the Pecos League, but while Morosetti singled in Jason Rooks from third in the bottom of the ninth it wasnt early enough for the Wind as the Saguaros closed out the game and series.

Wood collected four hits for Tucson while Fernandez finished with three safeties; Talamante, Scull, Dominic Enbody and Secundio Morales each had two hits for Garden City. The Saguaros now travel back to Tucson for Saturdays best-of-3 league championship set against San Rafael at Kino Stadium.

The Tucson Saguaros took an early lead and went on to stretch it into an 11-5 win over the Garden City Wind Wednesday night in the opening game of the Pecos League"s Mountain Division championship series at Clint Lightner Field in Kansas.

The Saguaros ran out to a 6-0 lead, featuring four runs in the second inning capped by a Gavy Perez Torres two-run homer, before Adam Purdys three-run roundtripper put Garden City on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth. Singles by Rob Morosetti and Pierce Khan produced runs one inning later to bring the Wind to within a score of tying the game until the top of the sixth, when the Saguaros Marquise Wood singled, stole second and took third on an errant throw by catcher Dominic Enbody before motoring home on a Jacob Elizondo single to give Tucson a 7-5 advantage. The Cacti posted four more runs in the top of the eighth as Anthony Manisero contributed an RBI single to take an 11-5 lead and close the night"s scoring.

Elizondo finished the night with four hits and three RBIs while Manisero, Mike Whalen and starting pither Miles Longoria each had a pair of safeties for Tucson. Jacob Talamante led Garden City with three hits and Morosetti and Khan chipped in with two hits apiece. Longoria took the pitching win as Ian Lanik held the Wind scoreless over the final two frames.Cutter Smith was tagged with the loss for Garden City. The two teams will meet Thursday night for Game 2. The winner of the best-of-3 series will take on the San Rafael Pacifics for the Pecos League title beginning this weekend.

Rob Morosetti scored the go-ahead run from third on a Jacob Talamante sacrifice fly to left field in the seventh inning as Garden City beat guest North Platte, 2-1, Sunday at Clint Lightner Field. The Winds Jason Rooks scored the games first run on a Tobie Teke infield grounder in the fourth but Ryan Lutinskis RBI single in the sixth knotted the score for the 80s. Will Hahnfeld and three relievers combined on a five-hitter for the Wind while North Plattes Mike Nestor and Eddie Kafton gave up four safeties. By sweeping the Mountain North title playoff series in two games, Garden City will now host Tucson for the Mountain Division championship.

Jason Rooks raised his batting average to .440 by going 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the winners. The Garden City Wind have declared their 10 rookies from 2024 roster that they are retaining for 2025 season. Easton Barnes has released the list. Although it is possible these players sign with higher level MLB Partner Leagues, if they return to the Pecos League These players Pecos League rights remain with the Wind.

2025 is the first time this rule has been implemented. It was necessary as a balancing act to prevent teams from taking other teams rookies. Once a player has obtained Veteran Status they are declared free agents and can move to any team without restriction.
