Blackwell finished with 12 hits but could not keep pace with the Wind attack. Arnaldo Garcia was charged with the loss after allowing nine runs over 4.1 innings, while the Flycatchers pitching staff surrendered 19 runs and 17 hits on the evening.

With the victory, Garden City remained perfect at 6-0, while the Flycatchers fell to 1-3 on the young season.

The Garden City Wind remained unbeaten on the young season, rallying late for a 4-2 victory over the Trinidad Triggers on June 4 at Clint Lightner Field. The win improved Garden City to 5-0, while Trinidad fell to 4-1.

The Triggers struck first in the fourth inning when Michael Acosta delivered an RBI single, scoring Jeremiah Cabuyban for a 1-0 lead. Trinidad added another run in the seventh to extend the advantage to 2-0.

Garden City finally broke through in the sixth inning, cutting the deficit to 2-1. The Wind then erupted in the eighth inning with three runs to take control of the game. Aidan Grabowski delivered a key two-run RBI effort, while Connor Huzicka added an RBI pinch-hit to cap the rally.

Camden Karlin kept Garden City within striking distance with a strong start, allowing just two runs on seven hits over seven innings while striking out four. Gavin Peterson worked a scoreless eighth inning and Nico O"Donnell closed the door in the ninth, striking out two to earn the save.

For Trinidad, Bryce Hayman led the offense with two hits, including a double, while Michael Acosta collected two hits and drove in a run. Jeremiah Cabuyban doubled and scored a run for the Triggers.

The Garden City Wind improved to 3-0 on the season Monday night with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Grand Junction Razorback Suckers at Clint Lightner Field in Garden City, Kansas.

The Wind struck first in the bottom of the opening inning when Connor Huzicka delivered a sacrifice fly to score Jason Ramos and give Garden City an early 1-0 lead.

Grand Junction answered in the third inning. Wyatt Cunningham reached base and eventually scored on a fielder"s choice by Rolando Lujo, tying the game at 1-1.

Garden City immediately responded in the bottom half of the third. With runners aboard, Trent Lowe reached on an error that allowed both Darius Freeman and Rob Morosetti to score, giving the Wind a 3-1 advantage.

The Razorback Suckers cut the deficit to one run in the fifth inning when Michael Doerr lined an RBI double to score Easton Bryant, making it 3-2. However, Grand Junction could not find the tying run as Garden City held on for the victory.

Wyatt Cunningham led the Razorback Suckers offense with two hits and a run scored. Jake Alwine, Rolando Lujo, Easton Bryant, Michael Doerr, Lucas Smith, and Aiden Bevan each added a hit as Grand Junction collected eight hits in the game.

Garden City managed just five hits but made them count. Jason Ramos, Darius Freeman, Rob Morosetti, Jordan Williams, and Ben Bach each recorded a hit, while Trent Lowe drove in two runs and Huzicka added another RBI.

Ayden Yaeger earned the complete-game victory for the Wind, allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out three over five innings.

Grand Junction starter Lucas Smith pitched well despite the loss, surrendering three runs, only one earned, on five hits while striking out two over 4.1 innings. The Razorback Suckers were hurt by a key defensive miscue that led to two unearned runs in the decisive third inning.

With the win, Garden City remained unbeaten at 3-0, while Grand Junction fell to 3-1 on the season.

GARDEN CITY, Kansas — May 28, 2026 — The Garden City Wind built an early lead and held off a late push from the North Platte 80s for a 9-8 win.

Garden City scored in each of the first three innings, including four runs in the third, to take a 6-0 lead. North Platte answered with five runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth, but the Wind responded with two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to stay ahead.

Jaxson Huzicka led Garden City, going 3-for-3 with a double, home run, two runs scored, an RBI, and two walks. Peyton Lewis homered and drove in two runs, while Jordan Williams added two hits and two RBIs.

North Platte was powered by Zach Evenson, who hit a home run and drove in four runs. Tommy Ramos also homered, scored three runs, and drove in one. Kyle Jenson added two hits and an RBI.

The Garden City Wind didn"t leave the dugout to find their replacement for Easton Barnes. Teddy Broxterman will serve as the 2026 Field Manager for the Wind. Teddy served as the pitching coach in 2025 and pitched for the Wind from 2021-2024. Over a four year period for the Wind he started 37 games and struck out 203 hitters compiling a 16-9 record.

"We know what we are going to get from Teddy and we are excited he is taking the step as field manager." says General Manager Randy Ralston. Teddy is a native of St Paul Minnesota and pitched four years at SW Minnesota State in Marshall, Minnesota.
